Role Details

  • Rate of Pay – £60PH

Jersey Children’s Social Care is looking for a skilled and enthusiastic interim manager to manage the Child Protection Chairs and Independent Reviewing Officers across a combined service.  We are looking for an experienced, confident and reliable individual, who is committed and passionate about delivering better outcomes for our children and families. This role requires the manager to be resident in Jersey.

The successful candidate will need to:

  • Be a champion for children
  • Have experience of working in or with the a child protection conference and review team, preferably including some experience of managing allegations against staff or volunteers working with children.
  • Provide good quality reflective supervision
  • Support the service with its improvement journey
  • Contribute to the quality assurance framework, including challenge both inside and outside of the organisation using high support high challenge.
  • Be able to write reports and analyse data.

The candidate will be supported to carry out the following duties responsibilities and training:

  • Support the Head of Service in providing strong leadership for the service, based on a clear vision of the outcomes to be achieved for children on child protection plans, children in care, and allegations against staff and volunteers and the ways in which this will be done.
  • Ensure the service has effective operational and strategic relationships across other government departments, partner agencies and the voluntary sector, in relation to child protection, safeguarding and children in care. This will include development of strategies to improve performance.
  • Maintain effective monitoring and quality assurance within the team to make sure that reviews, conferences and managing allegation meetings are conducted within accordance with policy and procedure set within the service and safeguarding partnership board.
  • Directly contribute to the quality assurance framework. To maintain processes for measuring, reporting on and monitoring to assure and improve the quality of practice within the team and across the service.
