Social Work Partners are currently recruiting for a Children’s Social Worker within Bracknell Forest. You must be registered with Social Work England to apply for this role.
You will be a practitioner who can engage with children and their parents/ carers, be reliable and provide stability and ambition for children and their families during the time they are working with us.
This role is for a qualified social worker that has current registration with Social Work England and experience of working within the legal frameworks that support our work. You must have a commitment to facilitating better outcomes for children, be organised and skilled in effective engagement.
About the Role:
- £30,984 – £35,336 per annum, plus 11.5% Market Premia, £637 London Weighting, £963 Essential Car User
- Degree in Social Work or equivalent, Social Work England Registration, experience of Children and Families statutory social work and experience of working with children is essential.
To work as a member of one of our Children’s Social Care Teams to promote and achieve better outcomes for children and contribute to the provision of children’s social care services ensuring children’s views are heard. Initially based within our Life Chances Services the primary focus will be on supporting children and families who are arriving from or have recently arrived from Ukraine.
To work within the context of relevant legislation and will deliver services according to the Department’s policies, procedures and guidelines.
To display a commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people.
Responsibilities
To identify the needs of children and families, promote intervention and safeguarding and negotiate delivery of services where appropriate.
To work with Adult Workers (domestic abuse, mental health and substance misuse workers) as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
To work alongside other professionals and agencies for example in assessing children in need, undertaking child protection enquiries and within Child in Need and Child Protection Plans to promote placement stability for children and young people.
To manage a caseload and provide assessment, case planning, intervention and family support according to expertise.
To take part in the team Duty system responding to concerns as and when they arise.
To make effective use of time and be able to prioritise workload, ensuring timeliness in visiting, report writing and other deadlines.
To attend and prepare for regular supervision with your supervisor, utilise critical reflection to be able to set clear goals and intervention strategies.
To contribute to service development and learning of others.
To monitor and evaluate demand and bring to the attention of the supervisor any resource shortfalls.
To develop and maintain accurate case records and comply with the Department’s policies, procedures and guidelines including security of information.
To promote listening to children at every opportunity; ensuring their views are heard, recorded and acted upon in an appropriate and timely manner and to ensure life journey work is completed with children and young people in accordance with their age and understanding.
